THE WALK
A varied 5 mile hilly walk with great views over the City and Chew Valley as we circle Maiden Head and East Dundry. The walk passes mainly through farmland and quiet country lanes.

START TIME, PLACE & PARKING
Meet at 10.00am ready for a prompt 10.15am start from the free Downs Road carpark, Dundry BS41 8LQ. The carpark in Downs Road is small but there is limited on street parking in a couple of nearby residential roads. Please allow time to park and kit up ready for a prompt 10.15 am start.

DOGS
There is space for up to 2 well behaved dogs which are agile enough to cross stiles/gates etc. Dogs must be kept on leads when using foot paths that cross private land. Please let me know if you wish to bring a dog.

VOLUNTARY DONATIONS
We will be asking for small voluntary donations (suggested 20p) to go towards paying for the groups franchise cost.

AFTER THE WALK
There will be the opportunity to go for a drink at the Dundry Inn after the walk for those who would like to.

WEATHER
If very bad weather is forecast the walk will be cancelled by 4.15pm on the day of the walk at the very latest. PLEASE CHECK ON THE DAY BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR THE WALK.

CANCELLATIONS
If you sign up and then decide not to go, please change your RSVP to NO so someone else can go. Please remember to do this even when you are on the waiting list and avoid leaving this until the day of the walk.

Boot rating system for walks here:
**1 Boot** \- For all walkers\. Mainly flat surfaces\, minimal ascents & descents\, around 4 miles on well\-defined paths\.
**2 Boot** \- Suitable for most walkers\. Small ascents and descents 4\-6 miles typically\, in countryside on rough paths\.
**3 Boot** \- For regular walkers\. One or more steep ascents/descents 6\-8 miles on rough terrain\.
**4 Boot** \- Suitable for strong walkers\. Hilly terrain\, with steep/long ascents/descents\. More than 8 miles\. e\.g\.\, Brecon Beacons or Mendips\.
**5 Boot** \- Suitable for strong walkers\. Hilly terrain\, with steep/long ascents/descents\, often on loose terrain\. More than 10 miles in challenging terrain \(e\.g\.\, Snowdon or Pen\-y\-fan\)\.
