Talking is Thinking: The Art of Journalling and Appreciative Enquiry
As the year draws to a close, it’s natural to reflect on your year: How far you’ve come and where you are going.
“The unexamined life is not worth living” said Socrates, and this drive has compelled psychoanalysts and philosophers to contemplate life and its meaning for millennia.
Journalling turns your personal call - to excavate meaning and uncover patterns in your living - into a habitual practice.
A writing practice may reveal to you continuities in your life, allow a place to vent and offload, uncover dissonance between competing values and behaviours, pose and seed thoughtful contemplation and/or help you to direct your intentions for the grand arc of your life with more precision.
In our small group discussion we will share any experience we currently have with this practice, or contemplate finding a new place for written reflection in our life. Perhaps you’ll be inspired with new resolve to journal in support of your personal development and growth in 2025.
Having a framework to ground your journalling practice gives you a solid place to start and seeds something to build and compound on.
Powerful questions can create all kinds of shifts in our perception and the stories we are telling ourselves.
