This is a Meetup i've done several times before with my Meetup group in NY. It was extremely rewarding for me and absolutely loved by the elderly patients that were our audience.

The way it will work is that we will go to the facility and the residents will be brought to our area and we will sing Holiday Songs (Mostly Christmas Songs). If you know any other traditional Hannukah songs and want to teach us, we will sing those as well.

I'm asking everyone to bring a size Large or Medium T-shirt that is festive or pleasant in some way. Please wrap a ribbon around it as we will hand these out as gifts. Jackie has told me that alot of these people don't have enough clothes so this would be very special to them.

I am also asking everyone to bring a dozen Christmas cookies. I really prefer home-made so that these folks can feel and experience something they had in their past (maybe they did or didn't). Please bring cookies in a container so we can walk around and allow the residents to take some. It is rare that they get home made cookies and this should be really nice for them,

These residents are either in Hospice or will live out the remainder of their lives here. Many are forgotten about or are often alone. Let's give them some loving, special treatment!

We will need to get together before hand one time and practice our signing. We don't want to sound too bad! lol.

I am deciding between two places and am opting for the place that gets the least attention. It will be about 45 minutes to an hour drive away. We will carpool.

I promise you, this will be rewarding and will bring true joy to the people we are singing to. Regardless of how we sound. It will bring back wonderful memories for most of them and they are ever so grateful.
