What are we going to talk about?
This week, let's talk about identity and how we experience it. Are we more like echoes of our past—where "resonance" refers to the influence of past experiences and societal expectations shaping who we are today—or are we in constant motion, actively crafting our identity as we forge ahead, embodying "evolution" through adaptability and direction? I personally think that our identity shifts over time, but how much of that change is something we direct ourselves, and how much is just an outcome of what happens to us?
Think about it: Is your identity something you receive from the world around you or something you take charge of, navigating and adapting to life’s twists and turns? Maybe it's a mix of both—a balance between the constant resonance of our experiences with the fluid adaptation to new challenges and goals. Let’s explore these ideas—our roles in shaping, maintaining, and adapting who we are. Are we more passive observers or active creators in the story of our identity?
Conversation format is free flow, with an emphasis on digging ever deeper and finding more questions (than answers). Let's unsolve a solution!
Things to think about before the conversation
1. When you think about your identity today, do you feel it more as a reflection of where you’ve been, or as an emerging path based on where you want to go?
2. How do you navigate the balance between society's labels and expectations versus the way you see yourself and what you want to become?
3. Can you pinpoint a moment when you felt your identity was purely reactive versus a time when you consciously shaped who you are? How did that affect you?
Please...
1. Be enthusiastic about deep conversations with others,
2. Be respectful to others and their opinion,
3. Update your RSVP if you can't make it,
4. Make sure to support the host venue by purchasing an item.
Thank you and looking forward to it.
