Announcement

Let me begin by saying that I appreciate everyone who has been a part of the success of the coffee group, both past and present, and that my 11 years here have been an overwhelmingly positive experience. So it is with some regret that I've decided to make the following announcement. Meetup recently increased its organizer fees by a very significant amount, enough that it's no longer financially feasible to continue operating the way we have for the past several years. I've always preferred the idea of keeping the group free for members to encourage growth, but given the price hike and the marked decline in overall and repeat attendance that has taken place this year, the time has come to consider how (or whether) things are going to continue up to and past the beginning of 2025. The fees for the current six month period have already been paid, so (provided there is enough interest) events will continue on at least until January 12th. By that time I will have taken a final look at the attendance numbers and the interest among whatever attendees we have and made a decision. For the time being, it's business as usual. Are there any potential spots you'd suggest visiting, or any favorite places we've been that you would like to revisit? Please let me or one of the other organizers know.
