What we’re about
Welcome to The Drunken Historians Society!
Do you love history, biographies, and raising a glass to the past? Then this is the perfect book club for you. We’re a group of history enthusiasts in Phoenix who dive into the lives of historical figures, explore pivotal moments in history, and enjoy lively discussions over drinks.
Each month, we choose a biography or history book to read. Whether it's about a famous leader, an unsung hero, or a fascinating event, we meet up in a relaxed setting—usually at a local bar or pub—to discuss the book, share insights, and enjoy drinks.
What to expect:
Thought-provoking discussions on history, culture, and the lives of intriguing figures.
A fun, friendly atmosphere where history lovers of all backgrounds can connect.
Great company, good drinks, and a new book every month!
Who should join: Anyone who loves a good story, historical or biographical books, and engaging conversation with a drink in hand. Whether you’re a casual reader or a history buff, everyone’s welcome.
Join The Drunken Historians Society, and let’s make history while enjoying our favorite beverages!

Hello Drunken Scribes!
I’m thrilled to announce our next meetup is on the calendar! This event serves as a placeholder so everyone can plan ahead, and we’ll finalize the book selection together soon.
### Book Criteria & Current Suggestions:
As discussed, our book selection focuses on autobiographies, firsthand accounts, and well-documented, peer-reviewed histories to keep our discussions grounded in reliable sources. If you have additional suggestions, please add them to our list here: Drunken Historians’ Society Book Suggestions. The deadline for adding books is Wednesday, 11/13/2024.
Afterward, I’ll send a survey link so we can all vote on our next book.### Location & Thanks:
I’ll update the location as soon as I receive confirmation. Thank you to everyone who attended our first meetup and for the fantastic insights you brought to the table. It was inspiring to see so many diverse perspectives and thoughtful contributions. Looking forward to building on this momentum!
