What we’re about
Welcome to the Greenville Sea Kayaker Meetup Group. Our purpose is to create an opportunity for paddlers of all skill levels to meet other paddlers for camaraderie, kayak instruction, touring, flat water paddling, and sea kayaking. Most of our day paddles are held on one of the many beautiful lakes in the Upstate of SC. While many of our paddling events are limited to touring and sea kayaks, due to distance traveled and speed, from time to time we may offer some shorter, slower events suitable for recreational kayaks.
Our goal is to promote fun and safe paddling and assist those interested in growing their awareness and skills. To achieve this, this group will provide educational opportunities as well as information about paddling events in the Upstate and in the region.
Each member is charged a $5 annual membership fee to cover the cost of the Meetup program. You may join for free for a 60 day trial period. If you prefer to pay this fee by check or cash, contact the organizer for an address. Take a look at our past meetups to see the kind of activities that we sponsor. During the winter months you will, of course, see few activities since paddling does tend to be seasonal.
Our on-water activities require that a PFD (life preserver) must be worn, properly zipped.
You are responsible for your own safety. The Greenville Sea Kayakers and its organizers may not be held liable for loss, injury or death to any participant resulting from our events.
