For the next few Wednesday's we will be doing the Dorset part of the Jurassic Coast Path which goes from the mouth of Poole Harbour to Lyme Regis, a distance of 86 miles.

Distance... approx 9.8 miles with 1043 ft of elevation.
We haven’t done this part of the coast path for over 5yrs as it goes along the shingle for a fair bit!
There are some short distances along minor roads and we have to cross the busy B3157 twice.

Start time...10.00 am. (Arrive...09.45am.)

Cost...none (but you must be a paid up Hardy Walkers member)

Meeting...by The Crown Inn at Puncknowle.

We start by heading to West Bexington where we will stop for refreshments at The Manor Hotel before reaching the coast.
We then head to Hive Beach where there are toilets and Cafe maybe stopping for a well earned rest!
The route then takes us to Burton Bradstock where we follow the river for a while before going through the campsite and on to Annings Lane. It's then a track which we may stay on and go directly to Lower Sturthill before paths going through the fish farm to Berwick Farm and back to Puncknowle where we can go for refreshments at The Crown.
…a packed lunch is the best option as there will be stops en-route...

• What to bring
Please use appropriate footwear (walking boots or shoes) and suitable clothing for the weather. Bring a small rucksack in which you can carry something warm to put on, waterproofs and drinks/snacks/packed lunch. Please bring plenty to drink if the weather is hot.
