About The Trail:
Cochran Mill Park has 18 miles of hiking and biking trails through 800 acres of woods, fields, and streams, and features stunning waterfalls, a couple of dams, rock outcrops, wildflowers, native azaleas, mountain laurel, and the ruins of three historic mills.
About The Hike:
Distance = We'll do ~ eight miles
Time: Budget ~ 3 hours
Skill Rating = Moderate
Pace = 3 - 3½ miles per hour; intermediate to advanced hikers only please
Special Equipment = None needed, though walking poles might help
Food = As usual, we'll take several short stops to re-hydrate and grab something to eat, so please bring water and snacks
Kids/Pets = No pets please, but children that can keep the posted pace are encouraged to attend
Directions/Meeting Place:
From the airport, take 85 South about 1/2 mile to South Fulton Parkway. Continue for about 15 minutes until the four-lane turns into a two-lane, then drive like two minutes to the first right turn (which is Cochran Mill Road). Go ~ 1/4 mile to the parking lot on the left. Meet in front of the park map at the front of the parking lot.
