We will cross Portions of State Trust Lands. Have the legally required permit in your vehicle or be prepared to suffer the consequences. Permits can be obtained on-line at https://land.az.gov/recreational-permit-portal

Will have lunch on the trail so bring your own food, non-alcoholic beverages and camp chairs.

The group will leave WAFFLES-N-MORE 1365 IRON SPRING RD. AT 8:00 AM TRAVEL TO YARNELL TO 23287 Hwy 89 @ MINA RD. NEAR RANCH HOUSE RESTAURANT IN YARNELL. PHOENIX PEOPLE MEET US BY 9:00 AM AT MEETING SPOT IN YARNELL, IS AIR DOWN SPOT & LEAVE TIME 9:30 AM

PART of this route is in very remote, rugged country on a rough, seldom traveled trail. It is very narrow in places. Expect steep ascents & descents, off-camber hillside, sand washes, cobble fields, washouts and long drop offs. Arizona pinstripping is guaranteed. Scenery is spectacular.

Along the way we will visit STANTON, AZ MINING TOWN THEN DOWN TO BUCKHORN RD, PAST MIDNIGHT OWL MINE THEN INTO RUBY WASH coming out on Castle hot spring road to Wagner Road to HiWay 89

DIFFICULTY: RATING #5 CLICK ON (https://4142298.xyz/The-Off-Road-AZ-No-Club-Club/about/) SCROLL DOWN TO TRAIL RATINGS. This will be a fun, rugged and scenic run. THIS RUN WILL BE DIFFICULT FOR A STOCK VEHICLE.

RATING #5 ~ Road surfaces are rutted, rocky and sandy with steps not exceeding 14”, with considerable slickrock surfaces. Water not exceeding 12” with some mud possible. Good vehicle approach and departure angles are helpful. Tall tires (33” minimum) and traction added device (lockers, limited slips) is recommended. Above average driving skills are desirable.

VEHICLE SPECS: SEE ABOVE 3" lift and sway bar disconnects are suggested. As always, be sure you have a CB for communications we will use channel #12. CB RADIO are Mandatory. A good spare and necessary equipment to repair a flat.
