DESCRIPTION: Rated 6 to 7. A tough, ever changing trail in a wash near Clarkdale. Actual trail is less than two miles long, but it takes several hours to run that distance. Only highly skilled drivers with heavily modified Jeeps will be allowed to attend. Body damage is possible. Meet at entrance to Yavapai County Fairgrounds on highway 89A at 8:00 AM then depart at 8:15. Folks coming from Cottonwood, Sedona or the valley meet the rest of us in Clarkdale at 9:00 at the air down location on Sycamore Canyon Road about 1/4-mile North of Tuzigoot Road, GPS coordinates 34.769689, -112.039943. Attendance is limited to 8 vehicles.
TRAIL RATING: 6 to 7. ~ Trail consists of rock; sand and considerable slickrock with many steps exceeding 24”. Steep inclines and declines are prevalent. Enhanced off road equipment is required including locking devices (front & rear), tall tires, maximum vehicle ground clearance, and tow hooks. A winch is desirable. Excellent driving skills are required. Vehicle mechanical or body damage is likely. Roll over possibilities exist.
COMMUNICATIONS: CB radio is REQUIRED, channel 27.
EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS: Please make sure your vehicle profile is accurate and up to date. Vehicles NOT meeting the requirements listed will be moved to “NOT GOING." Every vehicle needs to have permanent vehicle mounted recovery points front & rear, a 2” or wider tow strap with closed loop ends (no open hooks) in safe working condition, D-rings, tools, an appropriate jack & spare tire, and a means to air-down & air-up tires. Aggressive tread tires are required, absolutely NO STREET TIRES! Also required are front & rear lockers, recovery gear, at least a 3” lift, 35” or taller tires, and a skilled driver familiar with his/her Jeep’s capabilities & limitations. While a winch is not an absolute requirement, it is highly recommended.

MISC: As usual, bring chairs, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages for you and your passengers. Your guests and friendly, well behaved pets are welcome to come along.
