Tom Ryan, a middle-aged, overweight, acrophobic newspaper man, set out to climb all 48 of New Hampshire’s four-thousand-foot peaks twice in one winter while raising money for cancer charity. Joining him would be his friend, miniature schnauschnauzer Atticus M. Finch.
