Four-Part A Cappella Women's Barbershop
The San Diego Chorus is an a cappella show chorus of women singing 4-part harmony in the barbershop style. We are committed to local entertainment and international competition. Dedicated to musical excellence and education, the San Diego Chorus holds a multitude of regional championship titles. In the spring of 2014, the San Diego Chorus joined the regional 700 Club by scoring 708 points. Led by Master Director Kathleen Hansen, each rehearsal is a lesson in vocal and performance skills.
Along with musical development, the San Diego Chorus offers creative opportunities in areas like choreography, costume design, and show production. Leadership opportunities are available for every member. Members travel from across southern California and from Arizona and Hawaii to participate.
The San Diego Chorus believes that every voice matters. We welcome singers of all ethnic and racial backgrounds, people with disabilities, members of the LGBTQ+ community and people from varied religions.

For nearly 75 years, the San Diego Chorus has distinguished itself as a passionate, award-winning advocate of music, education and community. We are a competitive chorus performing award-winning 4-part a cappella harmony in the barbershop style.
The San Diego Chorus meets on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. in Room 207 of the Casa del Prado building of Balboa Park. Our year-round, self-paced "soft" audition process means you're welcome to visit any of our casual weekly rehearsals. Women and non-binary harmony singers are always encouraged to visit.
RSVP and our New Member Team will be standing by to greet and guide you every step of the way. New guests are invited to arrive by 6:30 for a vocal assessment to identify range and part.
In addition to weekly rehearsals, the San Diego Chorus hosts multiple guests open houses throughout the year that are specifically geared to introducing visitors to our organization, musical genre, membership guidelines and culture.
Singers feel an immediate connection with our community of dedicated, talented and passionate group of musicians. All levels of musical experience are welcome.
