Signal Hill 6 mile urban hike
Details
Enjoy the AMAZING Views!!
*NOT A BEGINNER HIKE!!!! If you are a beginner please plan on getting into condition before joining our group, or plan for being left behind.*
Come join us as we climb up and over and all around Signal Hill. The majority of the route is on pavement and asphalt, but we do hike one dirt trail. Shoes with good traction are recommended. Jeans are NOT recommended. This is not a "stroll"...we HIKE...so plan for moving and sweating.
This is NOT a beginner hike and we go at an intermediate to fast pace. This is not necessarily a difficult hike but the pace and the hills classify this as intermediate. Sometimes we will have slower paced people so you can join us at risk that the majority of the group will leave you behind. The route is tricky and you WILL get lost if you cannot keep up.
ALL HIKERS HIKE WITH US AT THEIR OWN RISK OF GETTING LOST IF THEY CANNOT KEEP UP!
We meet at the corner of Redondo Ave and Hill St in Signal Hill. Park on the street. We start by climbing Hill Street (the "decider"!), and head over the hill to Stanley, Cherry Ave, Skyline Dr and all points in between. The hike is about 6 miles long and takes about an 1 3/4 - 2 hours to complete. Well behaved and well socialized dogs (must be on a leash) are always welcome too.
WE LEAVE AT 6:30 SHARP. Plan to be there a few minutes early.
ATTN: PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN THE NU IMAGE / ARKRAFT PARKING LOT. YOU WILL BE TOWED!!! Park on the street or in the other parking lots up the street.
I (Robin) lead most nights, but you can also look for regulars to lead some nights as well.
Shoot me an email if there are any questions.
Robin
