Vicente Bluff Reserve Early Riser's Walk

Details

Arrive by: 7:20AM
Walk begins promptly at 7:30AM
Duration: Approximately 75 minutes

This walk has been scheduled primarily for those of us who enjoy the Pelican Cove Walk but would like to add a few more miles through the Vicente Bluffs Reserve before the 8:45AM walk begins. If you do plan to join us on both walks, please RSVP to both. By doing both hikes, you will get 6 miles and about 450 ft gain!

This is an 'out-and-back' hike with the goal of returning to Pelican Cove by 8:45-8:50AM. To accomplish this goal, we will walk about 35 minutes before turning around and heading back to the Pelican Cove Parking Lot. (Turn around at about 8:05am)

From the Pelican Cove Parking Lot, we will begin by heading west along Palos Verdes Drive. Our path will take us through the grounds of Point Vicente Interpretive Center (PVIC) and then through the Vicente Bluffs Reserve on the Seascape and Golden Cove trails, turning around at a bench near the Golden Cove Trail Parking lot. When we reach the turn around point (or our 35 minute time goal if comes first) we will retrace our steps back to PVIC. You may wish to walk through the small native garden there before heading back to our starting point in Pelican Cove. This route should take 75-80 minutes in total. The distance covered will vary, based on your walking pace.
