I have always wanted to explore the upper lake out in the Vartry so I have decided to come up with this new route. We will be starting with the upper lake and it has a new route which explores the lake in more detail than we normally do. After that and a break for lunch we will then be doing the lower lake in reverse.
Route:
Circular walk of approx 16 km and will take about 3 1/2 hours depending on pace. The walk is mainly on lakeside tracks. It will be muddy in places. I recommend comfortable walking shoes/boots and you won't need any poles but if you feel comfortable using them then bring them along.

Numbers are limited to 25 as sections of this walk will be on the main road - caution is needed.

**Meeting Point:**

We will meet at 11 am in the new Vartry Trails Carpark. It is on the left hand side and it is well signposted

**Directions:**

The best way to get to Roundwood is by car. If you are able to give a lift or if you need a lift perhaps you could indicate this under the comments.
