What we’re about
The Writers’ Table is an informal community of writers in Seattle, WA. We define writer as anyone who writes, and are not concerned with whether or not you have previously published or publicly shared your work. We celebrate and support one another in our individual goals and endeavors, trusting the vision and artistry of each writer.
We gather to encourage accountability to our writing and meaningful conversation around writing and creative process. There is no common intention around the style or format of writing that we’re working on unless specifically stated in a session/series invite.
We currently have the following sessions every month:
• Every Saturday morning: Coffee Shop Session in South Lake Union (open to all writing styles/no formal guidance)
• Every Tuesday night: Cafe Solstice social writing session (open to all writing styles/no formal guidance)

Beginning Writers: Please note that this is not a formally taught group. You are more than welcome to join at any time, but the Coffee Shop sessions do begin with an hour of writing where everyone is self-guided and doing their own thing. If you’re in the early phases of finding your way and determining what you want to write, we recommend you bring a writing book to possibly read and supplement the hour of writing. The Richard Hugo House is a great place to start if you’re looking for actual writing classes.
Support: If you're interested in showing some love for our group and/or you're in need of cool clothing, then you can buy one of our shirts out on teepublic. Each shirt nets us ~$3 which will be used to support the group (mainly our annual Meetup.com charges).
