What we’re about
The Hash House Harriers are an international group without any formal rules or organization that was founded in 1938 with tens of thousands of members and groups in most major cities.
It's a social running group (we have many walkers as well!) that focuses on the social element. This is why we welcome slow runners, power walkers, or just plain walkers.
We meet every Thursday and on the first Saturday and third Sunday of the month. Anybody can join by showing up at the designated meeting point of the day.
We urge you to join. If you have questions, just turn up and ask them.
We aim to bring together people who want to socialise, enjoy nonsense and have a bit of exercise at the same time. It's a great forum to meet new friends. There are all shapes & sizes, races, ages, intelligence and fitness levels.
We cater to young and old, fast or slow, fit or 'not-so-fit'! The main prerequisites are a sense of humor, willingness to meet new people, open-mindedness, tolerance and a general sense of fun. We are mainly English-speaking but most of us can speak (some) German.. the annoyingly clever Swiss members are typically fluent in many languages!
There is always alcohol and snacks at the end of our poor excuses for runs (covered by 5CHF), along with non-alcoholic alternatives for the real athletes and those who just prefer not to.
Plenty more information can be found on www.zh3.ch and on the Meetup information page or each event (which usually has a loose theme, but are all pretty similar involving following/finding trail (the route) using markings on the ground).
If we do not accept your Meetup request immediately give us some time, we will be on-on it shortly. Don't be afraid to just turn up and complain in person if this happens to you. You will be more than welcome.
Any questions? (how would you like my finger in your ear?). If that amuses you even slightly, you will fit in perfectly!

See all- Outstation & Hash # 1614: Silvesterlauf - Run for Fun 2024Bellevueplatz, Zürich
Let's hash the centre of Zurich this Sunday. Only no marks. The more we have joining the better costume we can arrange.
The Zurich Silvesterlauf loads of fun and we're organising to jog/walk the Run for Fun (5.5 Km) which starts at 18:20pm. Let’s meet at the Bellevue tram stop at 17:30 to wander over by 18:00.
This year the plan is to be dressed in the same theme, and do the fun "run" as a group competing for an award (which I hope it will be gold). Afterwards we can enjoy some Glühwein at one of the markets in the center. There’s a bag drop at Bürkliplatz if you need it (it does cost CHF 2 - non-refundable), please use it before meeting us at Bellevue. If you’re in the group entry I’ll have your race number and I'll handle it to you. Bring pins or something to attach it :)
