\*\*\*If you have participated in the Continental Divide Base Camp in the past you are already on our mailing list. You will not need to go through this orientation again. I will post a second orientation if this one fills.\*\*\*

In a nutshell: We will be feeding Continental Divide Trail hikers as they pass the 600 mile mark in their 3000 mile journey from the southern border of New Mexico to the Canadian border. We will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner and beverages. The hikers come through our camp at all hours in the course of the day. A lot of the hikers used this camp to meet up with other hikers...a rendezvous point. Many will camp at Camp Oasis. We will also provide service to re-boot phones and first aid supplies and camping. We have been given an extended BLM permit of 5 years.

We have successfully made it through our second Camp Oasis. We had 250 hikers from multiple countries. We also got hikers from many of the UU states. We learned a lot in the first couple of years. This orientation will help each participant to decide on which level they would like to help in May 2025. This is a huge event...all the help we can get is greatly appreciated. We especially need people who are willing to camp over night a couple of days. We have a film to present at the orientation and sheets to fill out on how you can help. Filling out these sheets gets you on the appropriate mailing list. This event continues to grow each year.

For those who participated in 2024, I am confident in saying it was again an inspirational experience. We would like to expand our kitchen teams in 2025 in order to give all the workers a little respite. Our camp will be set up in the desert for 3 weeks. I will post the event in full after this orientation. Our base camp will run from May 3 through the 34th of May.
