Details

Walk from Concord Center south through the Concord (Hapgood Wright) Town Forest which is immediately north of Walden Pond. Much of the route follows a popular walk that Emerson and Thoreau would "amble" together in the 1840s. Thoreau as tutor of Emerson's children referred to the hollow below Brister's Hill as "Fairyland". A dam later created a pond there which was named Fairyland Pond.

Mostly easy trails with a couple of hills - Less than 4 miles round trip.
Park at the municipal lot nearest 139 Keyes Road.
After the walk, with sufficient interest we'll stop in, nearby, for a snack and warm drink.
