What we’re about
We are a subkrewe of acoustic musicians of all instruments and levels who will be marching in Chewbacchus 2025. We are an eclectic mix-- we will play our own takes based on well-known Star Wars repertoire over a diverse percussion foundation. So far, we are playing Star Wars themes superimposed on Egyptian, Turkish, and Puerto Rican rhythms.
Home-made and ethnic/world instruments are highly welcome! Of course, traditional brass and drums are also VERY welcome. We currently consist of several different drums, a miniature French horn, trumpet, tenor sax, 3 recorders, 2 melodicas, Brazilian cavaco banjo, and several bellydancers playing zills. We would also like to perform Duel of the Fates, which is a choral piece. So, singers also welcome! Only-- you will need to play some kind of percussion as well, but it can be very basic-- maraka, wood block, etc.
For those who read music, I'll be happy to write a part for you (beginning or experienced). I also have recorded practice tracks. When you join, tell me about yourself as a musician, and I will set you up!
