Nursing a hangover or not, join me on the first morning of 2025 or some sea air at Merthyr Mawr.

A 10-km/6-mile circular and route starting at Candleston Castle takes us through woodland warrens and up and down Wales's largest dunes (and the second largest in Europe!). Race to the top is optional. Warning: I have big talk and will bait you into joining.

The views are gorgeous, and the dunes are great fun, with an opportunity for a post-walk bite and refreshments at the Pelican, with seats to be booked in advance.

A must if you have never been and an absolute favourite of mine.
