TWSC is a record setting phenomenon in the Sweet Adeline world! We are the most accomplished young chorus ever with a roster of nearly 70 members comprised of women of all ages and professions. Our common bond is a love for singing 4-part a cappella music, and the desire to study and work under the tutelage of Master Director, Betty Clipman. We offer education in vocal production, music theory and performance. Previous music education is not a requirement for membership; only the ability to sing, a desire to perform and the commitment to work hard and strive for excellence. The Woodlands Show Chorus (TWSC) is a chapter of Sweet Adelines International (SAI) in the Great Gulf Coast Region 10, which encompasses southern Texas, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi. We chose The Woodlands and Conroe as our home because this community is famous for supporting the arts. TWSC chartered in 2012 as the largest and fastest chartering chorus in SAI history. We won our first regional contest in 2013 with unusually high scores, placed well in our first international contest in Baltimore, MD in 2014, won the next regional contest in 2015, placed in the top ten internationally in 2016 in Las Vegas, and we won our region competition in 2017 and 2019 with record high scores. Contests were suspended in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions. In 2022 we traveled to Phoenix, AZ, where we scored high enough to be nineth best chorus in SAI worldwide! We are extremely proud and excited at this achievement!!!

Betty’s experience in Sweet Adelines spans over 40 years and covers all aspects of the organization. She is committed to continuous musical growth for all quartets and choruses through better educational opportunities. Her vision is to musically educate women of all ages, enabling them to experience the joy of singing four-part harmony a cappella through improved vocal and performance skills.
