What we’re about
Thinking While Drinking is a group for anyone in the Orange County area interested in discussing topics that will exercise, stimulate and expand your mind - all while enjoying a drink at different locations in our beautiful county.
For each event, the facilitators will come prepared with a handful of thought provoking questions and concepts on the topic at hand, we'll see what everyone has to say and go from there...
We are not suggesting that life's difficult and fascinating questions will be neatly answered during our meetups nor that any sort of professional therapy or dogma will take place. This is just a space to meet other curious, sociable and open-minded people in an atmosphere of exploration and enjoyment.
Last but not least, our group is run entirely by volunteers and your donations go a long way to keep us afloat. Help support us by contributing to our Patreon.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you (online for now) at an upcoming event!

Suggested viewing before we meet (9 min video): Embrace the Darkness (Carl Jung & the Shadow)
Join us for an engaging discussion about the exploration of the shadow self! The shadow represents the dark side of your personality—the disowned, repressed, and unacknowledged parts of yourself. It often includes elements like selfishness, rage, envy, and other “negative" emotions and behaviors we deem unacceptable. This rejection of our selves prevents us from being fully whole.
The shadow can also contain positive aspects like confidence, competitiveness, and talents we admire in others but fail to recognize in ourselves. The goal of “shadow work” is to uncover and integrate these parts of ourselves that we reject.
- Can you think of a time when facing a difficult part of yourself helped you grow?
- What tools or practices have you used, or would you like to try, for shadow work?
- How could doing shadow work help us get along better with others?
- Is there a part of yourself or your life that you think needs deeper understanding?
Let's think about it!
