Beaver Dam Workday
Details
The trail system at Beaver Dam is one of the older trails in the Triangle. This trail suffers constant erosion due to the hilly terrain and multiple streams in the area. The trail needs regular maintenance to help maintain drainage so it can reopen quickly after rain events.
This workday will be focused on Outer Loop, hauling in some rocks to fix an eroded trench. I have a trail wagon we will use. If time allows we will try to reshape a curve at the end of a rooty downhill to make it easier to maintain momentum. We are trying to return Outer and Inner loop to 'beginner' trails, by fixing a few key spots that have gotten progressively more technical from erosion.
Meet at MTB trailhead parking lot. Or if MTB lot is closed we will meet at the parking lot just past the closed gate for the MTB parking area (Picnic shelter 25/26 parking lot).
