Join us to celebrate the opening of *[The Culture: Hip Hop and Contemporary Art in the 21st Century](https://ago.ca/exhibitions/culture-hip-hop-and-contemporary-art-21st-century)* with an exciting night of live hip hop and contemporary art. Making its only Canadian stop at the AGO, explore the exhibition and see Canadian music legend, the godmother of hip hop, Michie Mee perform at **8 pm.**
**Michie Mee** is known for her unique rap style of combining reggae and dancehall with hip hop. Amongst this Juno nominated rapper and actress’ many achievements is being the first Canadian Hip Hop Recording Artist to sign an American Major Record deal, being the recipient of the 2012 DJ Stylus Hall of Fame Award, 2013 CUMC Lifetime Achievement Award, 2014 Black Canadian Award for Best Female Rap Act, and most recently making History winning the Toronto Arts Council 'Roy Thomson Hall Award' of $10K. She was also featured in the 2011 CBC hip hop documentary “Love, Props and the T. Dot,” this trailblazer’s saga still continues. Michie Mee’s reign as Queen is far from over.
