Looking for an exhilarating badminton experience in East London?
Join our vibrant badminton club in Tower Hamlets, where players of various skill levels, from improvers to advanced, come together! With 3-4 top-notch courts and high-quality Chao Pai feather shuttles provided, you'll have everything you need for an outstanding game.
Our approach is laid-back and friendly. Feel free to jump onto any available court and challenge fellow players. Just remember to vacate the court promptly after your game, allowing others to join in the fun. We discourage court hopping (coming off the court and hopping straight onto another one), as we believe in giving everyone a fair chance to play. Don't worry about the shuttles either—they're conveniently placed between each court, and you're welcome to grab a fresh one if necessary.
Low Intermediate+ or Intermediate+ Players only
To maintain a steady flow of enjoyable matches, it's essential that you play at a proficient level. While our members are more than happy to offer tips and guidance to those still learning, we also want to ensure everyone gets to experience thrilling games. If your skills aren't at the appropriate level, you may be asked to sit out the session.

Welcome to our thrilling Saturday badminton meetup at Mulberry Sports & Leisure Centre in Tower Hamlets.
We're a friendly group of badminton enthusiasts with players of varying levels. With 4 courts and high quality feather shuttles, we ensure an incredible experience.

Shuttles are conveniently placed between each court, and you're welcome to grab a fresh one if necessary.To keep things exciting, our event hosts will occasionally select four players to organise a competitive game on the next available court. We aim to make the teams as evenly matched as possible. If you're not selected, please refrain from joining the court. Even if you're not picked, rest assured, we'll always do our best to ensure all players get a fair number of games during our sessions.
Restrings
We offer a restringing service, starting at £22 for a selection of Yonex strings (BG65ti, BG66 Ultimax, BG80, BG80 Power and many more), or £15 if you provide your own. - Parking: Parking is available at the venue, to the left when facing the entrance. Street parking is available on some nearby roads (e.g. Philpott Rd, Turner St) as restrictions end on Friday at 5:30pm. Please check carefully before parking as we cannot be held liable for any parking fines.
- Refreshments: There is a Tesco on Commercial Road where you can buy drinks/snacks

It's that time once again for our annual, BadMinion’s only, mixed doubles tournament!
This will be a great chance for us to have some nice, friendly competition and for some of you to get some long overdue revenge against anyone that beat you at last years tournament.

If you would like to take part please RSVP to this session and make payment of £20 to the account details above. Your place will not be confirmed until we have received payment and any cancellations received after 6pm on 17 November 2024 will not be refunded.IMPORTANT DETAILS
- There will be space for 32 players (16 pairs)
- Players will choose their own partners (mixed doubles only)
- If you don't have a partner, let me know and I'll try to pair you up
- All players must have been to at least one of our badminton sessions/tournament in the last 12 months to be eligible to join
- Medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place pairs
- Refreshments will be provided
- RSVP separately for the Post Tournament Lunch at Rüyam Turkish Restaurant
TOURNAMENT RULES
- Each pair will be placed into either group A or B
- You will play every other pair in your group round robin style (7 games total)
- Each round robin game will be played up to 21 points only (even if it goes to 20-20)
- The top 4 pairs from each group will move into the knockout stages
- The knockouts (quarters, semis & finals) will all be played up to 21, but the standard deuce rules will apply requiring 2 clear points to win, with a 30 point limit
- The semi finals and finals will be played on centre courts, so there will be chance to grab some extra games on the end courts if you didn't make it through to the knockout stages (however we will be stopping all other games for the finals)
- We have the courts booked until 16:00 and so need to be out of the hall by then. The showers and changing rooms will still be available for use after that.

Come join us for food, drinks and banter at our post tournament lunch & social 2024.
Depending on the level of interest, we'll be prioritising players that have attended the tournament followed by players that regular attend our badminton sessions.
