If you sign up to attend, and see that you can't make it, please be sure to text Jacque at (512) 426-2576 **before** hike so she will not hold up others waiting on your arrival.

Time to hike! We will start our hike promptly at 8:30am for an out and back "lollipop" trail for 2.7 miles (we take one short break in the middle to give the dogs and ourselves water; there is a bench to sit).

Much of the trail is smooth and level, but it is rocky in some places, with exposed roots. Multiple creek crossings - there are stepping stones, depending on how high the water is! A few ups & downs, elevation gain is 209 feet overall. Mostly shady, with a few areas of direct sun. Lovely views of the creek. Great conversation with fellow TOWNIES.

Dogs who are very well behaved can join this event with their owners. Turkey Creek Trail is an off-leash area. Please be prepared to do poop pick-up (bring bags).

Important to bring: Water, close-toed comfortable shoes (shoes "might" get wet).
You could also bring: hat, sunglasses, hiking sticks, sunblock, bug spray, small snack, bandana.

Check the weather the morning of - the hike will go on in most weather, unless it is really pouring rain, hailing, or snowing. Check this MeetUp event for any last minute changes.

We will meet at the trailhead, next to the parking lot. There is a port-o-potty there. If you are new to this TOWN Turkey Creek hiking activity, you will be asked to sign in when you arrive. Dogs do not have to sign in.
