Name: Blue Ridge Tunnel Hike

We are hiking the Blue Ridge Tunnel, which was built from 1850 to 1858 for the Blue Ridge Railroad, and then continuing on the trail for a 4.5 mile roundtrip hike. The hike includes the mile long tunnel, which is a constant temperature of upper 50's to low 60's (light jackets and flashlights/headlamps needed), then a slight uphill trail to the Waynesboro parking area, where we will turn around and repeat the hike.

We will meet at the Afton East Trail Head, 215 Afton Depot Lane, Afton VA.

Directions: I 64, exit 99, right on 250 east for 1.5 miles , sharp right onto rt 6 east, .5 miles to right onto Afton Depot Lane.

Bathrooms: porta potties at the trail heads.

Lunch/drinks following the hike: nearby Blue Mountain Brewing for any who are interested

**This event-specific waiver must be submitted by EVERYONE, even if initially on the Wait List, no later than 5:00 pm Friday November 15th to attend this event.**
***Waiver Instructions:***
If it's your first time submitting a waiver, you need to fill it out **completely**. Don’t forget to click the **Set Today** button and the blue **Submit** button at the bottom of the page.
If it's a subsequent submission:
Enter your phone number (w/o dots, dashes, etc.) or your email address at the top of the page where it says "Returning Customer.
Click Search
Click the top/last blue Renew button, then...
Scroll down the page. Everything should be pre-filled in from your previous waiver. Keep scrolling all the way to the bottom...
Click **Set Today**, and lastly
Click the blue **Submit** button. That's it!
**RECOMMENDED GEAR:**
Flashlight or headlamps needed, plus a jacket for the cool tunnel temps and the changing fall weather (layers!), sturdy shoes or hiking boots, water, snacks, bug spray and sunscreen, personal medications, poles if you use them and basic first aid and trail supplies. Remember that we are a LEAVE NO TRACE group, so prepare for that.
