Name: Mount Tabletop and the Dargo River, experienced, exploratory, 4 day walk.

Summer is an excellent time to visit the high country. Cool mornings and (mostly) still sunny days. Off track and exploratory in nature. This walk has it all. High peaks, ridges and deep valleys.

Time: 4 days over the Australia Day holiday break.

Start/Finish Location: JB Plain

Thursday Night: Drive up and camp at JB Plain.

Start at JB Plain:

1. Mt Tabletop 1593m then off track steeply down to the Dargo River at China Flat. The amount of fire regrowth will determine our speed or lack of it, while heading down this ridge.
2. Follow the Dargo River downstream (mostly in the river) to the Mayford (flat)
3. Daytrip out and up to the Kings Spur on the McMillian track.
4. Climb out on the steep Mayford track Then follow the Dinner Plain Track to Dinner Plain.

Closest Town: Dinner Plain

Style: Semi remote area high country circuit walk

Grade: Difficult. Exploratory. Experienced walkers only. Previous experience in extended remote area walking is mandatory.

**RSVP**: You will be put on the waiting list for confirmation by the organiser.
You **MUST** then send a personal message to the organiser to confirm that you are on the list. Failure to do so means that you will be removed from the list.
Also, you must provide detailed answers to the questions which was part of the post (additional info can be part of the personal message as per above) or you will be removed from the waiting list:

1. Fitness, how fit are you and what do you do on a daily/weekly basis?
2. Experience. Are experienced in this type of off track walking? Name the walk / location and your role. Full details are required.
3. Navigation. Can you navigate across trackless terrain using only map and compass?

About 60% of the time spent on the walk will be off track thru scrub and regrowth, there will be some rock scrambling with packs, steep sections. Participants need to be comfortable with all of the above and be a moderate to fast walker while doing so.

Weather: Alpine. Be prepared for anything, including snow.

Group size: 4 is ideal. 8 is absolute max.

Be prepared: Clothes for scrubby conditions including gloves. O/N camping sites will be restricted by the terrain.
