Stephen Foster is a beautiful Georgia State Park on the Okefenokee Swamp, one of the Seven Natural Wonders of Georgia. There are miles of walking trails, including boardwalks where you can observe turtles, alligators, water birds, cypress trees and other unique vegetation. The park also provides educational pontoon boat rides into the swamp. There are canoes for rent if you would like to paddle into the swamp yourself. You are also free to bring your own. Lastly, because of its isolated local, Stephine Foster is a dark sky park and the rangers provide a night sky show that is interesting and beautiful.

We have a pioneer site- I have stayed at it before, we did not have any gators in the campsite. There are state park cabins if you are more comfortable with that option. The pioneer site is large so feel free to bring a larger tent if you choose. There are shelters, picnic tables, fire rings, and 2 restrooms.
