Oakland Cemetery was founded in 1850 and became a destination location for Atlantans of the Victorian era. Oakland Cemetery is an amazing garden and resting place for many prominent Atlantans. I will walk you around to the highlights on cobble stone pathways. Lots of Atlanta history to learn about. After our walk of Oakland, we can decide where to eat.

* **Dress according to the weather.** The paths are in VERY rough shape being cobble stone in many places and most recently due to construction. Sturdy footwear is suggested.
* **For parking**, there is a gravel lot near Oakland's main entrance ($$$), but if it's a nice day, then you may have to drive around a bit to find parking. ***Allow extra time for travel*** because of Atlanta traffic and difficulties in parking.

If the hike must be cancelled due to inclement weather, we will notify everyone by 7:00PM the night before the hike, or sooner if the forecast is blatantly obvious!

**CONSEQUENCES OF A NO SHOW - To accommodate all, Trail Dames has a 3-strikes-you-are-out policy for NO SHOWS. Please make sure your RSVP is accurate at least 24 hours prior to event start. If there is a same day emergency, reach out to the hike leaders, please.**
