For the winter solstice, we will be striking out at sunrise to enjoy the glory of the unfolding day. We will start our adventure at Finch Subway Station and we will follow various valleys, trails and parks (Don Valley Trail, Edwards Gardens, Sunnybrook Park, Crothers Woods, the Brick Works, Riverdale, CorkTown and The Esplanade). We will stop for breakfast at **Windfields**, a coffee break at the **Evergreen Brick Works**, and arrive at the on the The Esplanade for a well deserved celebratory meal, drinks, and laughs at the **Old Spaghetti Factory**.

90% of this hike goes through dedicated biking and hiking paths through the various trails and parks so the majority of the hike will be away from the hustle and bustle of cars. You will be surprised how much of the hidden city you will see.

How do we get back to our cars? After dinner, drinks and merriment we will walk to the subway and TTC back to our starting point at Finch Station.

What is the total hiking distance? 30km +- . Our pace will not be as strenuous as a fitness hike, but the distance is longer than a typical 'Hike Like a Boss' event so you need to be mentally prepared. Ultimately, the pace will be defined by the group. If you have never attempted a Hike Like a Boss event, this hike is not for you.

LEVEL OF COMMITMENT:
At least 10 hikes with THRH
At least 1 HLB winter hike or equivalent

• What should I wear?
Dress for the weather. We have had everything from knee high snow, to ice covered trails, to sunny days where we are rolling up our sleeves...

• What to bring
Water, snacks, hats, scarves, hiking boots, **icers**, hiking poles, and a hearty spirit.

This hike is limited to 12 spots for the purposes of dinner reservations.
