**The Hike**
Please join me again for this easier intermediate hike in Castle Rock State Park, with some of the most amazing views that you will find on the peninsula.

We will be doing one of my favorite shorter hikes, a portion of Castle Rock State Park, totaling +/- 5.4 miles and a +/- 1,050 foot elevation gain. You will need to be properly geared with the appropriate shoes as you will be climbing and descending rock formations!

**The Park**
Castle Rock is a land of sculpted sandstone, lush forests, and sweeping vistas. From one of the highest ridges in the Santa Cruz Mountains, park visitors enjoy hiking, backpacking, and horseback riding. Rock climbers explore the park's caverns and rocks, including the namesake Castle Rock. Per my MO, we'll get another chance to socialize afterwards with some enjoyable food.

**Carpool**
There is a parking fee of $10 and they do accept debit/cc. No pets, nor children allowed on this hike.

Drivers please post if you will be attending lunch as I typically host a lunch after our hikes. For those coming from the south, I would suggest that Saratoga High School be a meeting point. Those coming from the north can use the Page Mill Park and Ride as a carpool meeting point.
Drivers, please post your requested contribution to drive, including gas, park entrance and other expenses.

**Extras**
The organizer is an unpaid lacky to all the THE members and not an expert hiking guide. All participants agree to assume 100% responsibility for their own safety, conduct, and well-being and recognize that possible hazards exist while participating in outdoor (or any other) activities. All participants agree to participate solely at their own risk and by signing up for this event or any other THE events shall be presumed to understand and agree to this policy. Don't forget to bring snacks for the organizer =] - no dogs on this trail.
