Support and Info for Parents of Adult Children with ADHD

Details

Where is the Instruction Manual for Parenting an Adult Child with ADHD?
You are the proud parent of a fine, physically grown young adult with ADHD who is trying to navigate the early years of adulthood. You notice multiple ways in which your child is having difficulty transitioning to adulthood: jobs and career, finances, independent living skills, relationships, and emotional self-management. How can you best be of help? How can you cope with the frustrations and pain that may arise? What role should you play in your child's transition to adulthood?
TRI CHADD NJ is happy to offer this opportunity for parents of young adults with ADHD to learn strategies that work, to share their experiences with other parents, and to ask questions. The meeting will be led by Eva O'Malley, the Coordinator of the local chapter of CHADD National. Eva has given dozens of presentations on ADHD to parents, school professionals, and others interested in ADHD. She shares her knowledge and experience with the public to help improve the lives of all affected by ADHD.
While parents participate in this education and support opportunity, their young adult children (18+) are invited to join a peer support meeting, led by a trained facilitator who also lives with ADHD.
