Ayr Mount Poet's Walk: walk, read, and connect
Details
Join us for a Sunday afternoon at Ayr Mount Historic Site in Hillsborough to spend some time in nature, make new friends or catch up with old ones, and read in a scenic place. The only trail here, the Poet's Walk, has great scenery along the Eno River and across open fields and near a pond, but it's pretty short (only 1 mile). So the focus of this outing will be more on the reading time - we'll walk the 1 mile loop, sit by the pond or near the historic house to read for a while in the late afternoon sun, and then for those who want to walk some more, we can do the 1 mile loop again. Or just stay and read for longer, or call it a day. You can see more info about the trail on AllTrails: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/north-carolina/ayr-mount-poets-walk
We'll meet at 3:00pm on Sunday December 8 in the parking lot of Ayr Mount: 376 St Marys Rd, Hillsborough, NC 27278 https://maps.app.goo.gl/ixr28y4r1RPWj8Xq5
We'll get started a few minutes after 3:00 and will be back at the parking lot before it gets dark.
Setting a low limit on attendance for this one because the parking lot is pretty small. If you're able to carpool with someone else, that would be great! And if you sign up and later realize you can no longer come, please change your RSVP to indicate that, so it will open up your space for someone on the waitlist. If you're on the waitlist, check Meetup the day of the event, because often people drop out late and spaces open up at the last minute.
