What we’re about

Social dance is a way to exercise and connect with other people.  Triangle Social Dance offers a calendar of social dances in Raleigh, Durham, and surrounding communities.

Initially we’re focused on contra dancing and waltz with a few swing dances thrown in.  Feel free to reach out to Russ using the message link on Meetup if you’d like to add additional dances and styles.

Be sure to read the COVID protocols for each dance.  RSVP is not required to attend.

Contra Dancing
Contra is a community dance with a caller explaining the moves of each dance.  It’s a great way to get started with dancing.  No partner is required.

Wear comfortable shoes with a low heel.  Leather soles are preferred.  Be prepared for lots of movement.

Waltzing
Waltzing is a couples dance with a standard step.  Feel free to come alone or with a partner.  I think this is one of the easier dances to learn as a couple.
