Eltz Castle loop hike (11km)

Hi there! Less than one week for the hike ☺️

The forecast isn't very cheerful, let's see if it improves or if indeed it will be a rainy hike.

I have created a carpool to help with the.. carpooling. if we are not able to get seats for everyone there is a train at 8h40 as already advised.

If there are more drivers willing to join with the possible rain (unless it is heavy showers/storm, we should be fine to continue) please add your car on the pool.

Hi there,

Save the date, plan is to start the hike from Müden train station at 10h00.

You can reach it either via car (we can organise a small carpool) or via train (RB81 leaving Trier at 8h41 will reach Müden at 9h57).

There is a nice view of the river, then the terrain is nothing amazing..until you reach the Castle. The castle will be closed (for visits you need to come between 1Apr-30Oct) but we will go around, taking the opportunity for some nice shots, hopefully the weather will be good. After that we start heading back in the direction of the Moselle.

I estimate that at a slow pace we might do this in 4-5h already with lunch break.

Bring food, clothes, ID. Oh, seriously stuff for the rain and cold, it might get wild 😜

Train back (assuming DB is cooperating) passes at :00..so hopefully by 18h19 (worst case 19h19). Travelling time might differ between trains and cars. In any case we can finish the event over food and drinks in Trier. Or beer in Müden if by bad luck we miss one train 😎

I will organize the car pool closer to the date.
