Are you in your 20s/30s and wondering how to make friends as an adult? Did you just move to Richmond, VA (RVA) and need new friends or things to do? Have you lived in RVA for a while but still would like to diversify your circle of friends? Are you single, engaged, married, or divorced and looking to meet other like-minded friends? Do you like food, beer, wine, cooking classes, games, outdoor activities, music, or anything fun and would rather go with friends?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, this group is for you! Trying to Adult RVA is a membership-based social group. It is open to anyone 21+, of any gender, that want to make friends.

Grab your go-to drinks and your ID for a good time, and bring that energy because it's going to be a blast! This exclusive Pedal Pub Adventure is a private tour just for Trying to Adult RVA members. We’ll be cruising through the city, powered by your own pedaling and filled with good vibes, as we explore together!
We’re not just pedaling; we’re exploring! Expect 2-3 stops at some of the best breweries, cideries, bars, and distilleries in town. Sip, savor, and soak in the atmosphere at each location as we make our way through the city. Feel free to bring your own drinks along for the ride—but please note, no liquor or glass is allowed on the bikes.
No need to worry if you’re not a seasoned cyclist—this event is all about having fun at your own pace. The Pedal Pub is designed for comfort and enjoyment, ensuring you and your crew have a fantastic time.
What to Bring:
- Your ID
- Your favorite drinks for the ride (no liquor or glass allowed)
- Comfortable clothing and shoes for pedaling
- Cash to tip your guide
- A positive attitude and readiness for fun!
This event is $45 for premium members and $48 for all other members. Space is limited to 14 people. Spots are first purchased first confirmed. All attendees must have a confirmed ticket to attend.
In the event of inclement weather, this event may be cancelled or rescheduled. A announcement will be made an hour prior to the start of the event. If cancelled, all paid tickets will be refunded.

Once you receive a confirmation email from the Trying to Adult RVA website, confirming your purchase, you are good to go. Your "unpaid" status on Meetup will not be updated until the week of the event.
Once all spots are claimed and the event is sold out, those unpaid will be moved to the waitlist on Meetup.

- Scarecrow Making & BrewsStrangeways Brewing, Richmond, VA
Get your creative juices flowing and join us for a fun-filled afternoon of scarecrow building! We’ll provide all the materials needed to craft a unique scarecrow to enter into the Virginia State Fair competition together. Bring your ideas, enjoy some drinks, and socialize with friends as we work together to make something awesome!
What to Expect:
- All materials provided – just bring your creativity! 🎨
- We’ll build a free-standing scarecrow that meets the competition’s rules (see details below).
- Check out our Facebook group to vote on what design we’ll create as a team!
- Drinks and socialization are encouraged – it’s all about having fun with friends while we put it together. 🍻
Competition Rules:
- Must be free-standing/anchored.
- Scarecrow should be suitable for all audiences – the Fair has the right to disqualify any inappropriate entries.
- Maximum size: 6 ft. tall, 4 ft. wide.
- No animatronics or electric parts allowed.
- All limbs and accessories must be securely fastened.
Let’s get creative and aim for the top prize at the Fair! Whether you're an artist or just here for fun, this is the perfect way to celebrate the season with friends.
