Our models use a variety of poses, varying in length from two-minute warmups to 45-minute poses, over a three-hour period.
This weekly Santa Fe drawing group was started in 1969 by artist Eli Levin. Both amateur and professional artists have participated throughout the years. All skill levels are welcome from beginner to accomplished. The group is not a drawing class, rather a shared figure-drawing opportunity made available on a weekly basis.
There's a $10 fee (cash only) per attendee for each evening session. The fee is used to pay the model and room expenses, and to host an annual exhibition of drawings that were created during Tuesday night drawing sessions.
This is not a silent drawing group. Conversation Is a part of the Tuesday Night Drawing Group experience.

General information about our drawing group:
This weekly Santa Fe drawing group was started in 1969 by Eli Levin. Both amateur and professional artists have participated throughout the years. All skill levels are welcome, from beginner to accomplished. The group is not an instructional drawing class, but a drawing experience and an opportunity to draw live models. Unlike some drawing groups that request silence, conversation among the artists during poses is common. Snacks during the 5-minute breaks are available — when artists choose to bring snacks.Posing starts with warmup 2-minute poses, then 5-minute poses, and increasingly longer poses throughout the session. The poses take place in 20-minute blocks (two 10-minute poses, for example) with a 5-minute break between each 20-minute block. The last pose of the night is usually approximately 40-minutes, split into two 20-minute sessions (with a 5-minute break between the two sessions).
Folding chairs are available. A limited number of portable easels and TV trays are also available. Drop cloths are available. Dry media only. Bring your own paper, drawing pads, drawing materials, etc.
