The Battle of Hastings, fought on 14 October 1066 between French & English armies. The 31-mile 1066 Country Walk is a relatively easy, low-level route through countryside that witnessed this Norman Conquest. Starting at Pevensey Castle, it passes the historic 1066 Battle Abbey & Battlefield, medieval Winchelsea, ending in historic Rye.

We will walk the most beautiful sections, especially towards the end, with stunning sea views, a spectacular walk to the picturesque Winchelsea - a beautiful quaint village, full of colour and character.
