Turkey Mountain Wilderness Area Trail Hike
Details
This hike is a social hike where we watch out for each other, each person having responsibility for their own safety.
There is not always a leader present for the weekly hikes so meet up with other members and have fun!!!
Known dangers or hazards: slippery trails when wet, Cliffs, Poisonous snakes (Ex: Copperheads), spiders, ticks (known to carry lyme disease), chiggers, Poison Ivy, loose rocks on trails, heat exhaustion, deer, coyotes, ponds, rivers, horses, mountain bikers, people with unfriendly dogs (people have been bitten, though no one in our group) ... etc.
You are responsible for your own risk and safety.
Happy Trails!
Adults and children welcome ...
There is usually a small meeting just prior to the getting started. We make introductions and have discussion about club business. Hiking starts promptly at 9:15 a.m.
We normally hike 4.5 to 5.5 miles and finish about 2 hours later. Bring plenty of water!
