**Let's embark on an EPIC and EXTRAORDINARY adventure to HIKE THE INCA TRAIL to MACHU PICCHU, one of the seven wonders of the world and a UNESCO World Heritage site.**

A hike to Peru’s ancient city of Machu Picchu is sure to be one of the most memorable adventure experiences in your lifetime.

**About the Inca Trail:** Hiking and walking the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is one of those bucket list destinations for many. The trek starts in the Sacred Valley outside of Cusco and ends at the mystical Sun Gate entrance to Machu Picchu, covering a total of 26 miles. Those who hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu will be hiking on the actual ancient Inca Trail footpath, carved out of the mountains centuries ago by the Inca people. These treks are multi-day hikes with camping or a mix of other lodging for the overnight stays.

Inca Trail normally takes 4 days/3 nights to complete. **I'm opting to go with the 5 days/4 nights option.** On this option, you'd get to avoid the crowded path and g**o a bit slower and at more leisurely pace on the Inca Trail over 5 days and 4 nights to reach Machu Picchu!**

**About the 5D/4N experience**: on this 5 days/4 nights trek, you go at a more leisurely pace. You can spend more time at each ruin along the way. This is a great option for those worried about their hiking capability and speed, as well as families with younger hikers. You can relax and enjoy a stress-free experience when you trek with Alpaca Expeditions. * Optional Day 0 - Fri 1/10 - Leave NYC and fly into Cusco early to acclimate and relax
* Optional Days 1 and 2: Sat and Sun 1/11 and 1/12: Free days in Cusco to acclimate and relax
* Days 3 to 7 - Mon 1/13 to Friday 1/17 - Hike the Inca Trail per the itinerary
* Optional Days 8 and 9 - Sat and Sun 1/18 and 1/19 - stay extra days to explore Cusco further or fly home
