What we’re about

We threw one party. Let's throw another! My friends and I are active in various atheist and humanist circles and want to throw together opportunities for local Twin Cities folks who are more or less "post-faith"— former fundamentalists, ex-Christians, ex-vangelicals, non-theists, secular humanists, atheists, agnostics, and all folks generally heretical— to come hang out, make some connections, and have a generally badass and kickass good time. We're experimenting with format. Share your feedback and come experiment with us!

If you used to be one of The Faithful and are now counted among the godless, you likely know it can be hard finding others who've seen the mess and feel the scars that you have. It can be hard to find people who "get it." Replacing the community we found in the church can be daunting. This isn't an atheist church. It's just a house party. But hopefully one where you can just be yourself with some likeminded folks on a similar journey.

*** NOTES: There won't be any theology tests (are you "post-faith" enough?) to get in the door. Many of us are atheists, but one really cares what labels you use to call yourself. And if you're unsure what your current belief status is or if maybe just maybe there's some sort of universal non-dickish goddess out there, that's no problem at all. But any badgering or proselytizing will simply not be tolerated. Additionally, this is a very trans- and LBGTQ+-friendly event. No forms of bigotry will be tolerated. We are creating a safe space, and this is a one-strike-you're-out event.
