Let us opt to go outside and walk on Black Friday in this Park along the Reedy River in south Greenville County west of Fountain Inn. History abounds at the old dam, Mill that is no longer there, and the old electrical generation building. Descriptive signs describe the era of cotton milling in this area. The event occurs rain or shine.

• Who We Are: Upstate Pathfinders Volkssport Club, a not-for-profit club providing 11 interesting walks, available daily, at your pace, in many different locations throughout Greenville, SC. We provide turn-by-turn instructions with historical notes. Registration starts at 9:30. We are a part of the America's Walking Club (aka American Volkssport Association), a nonprofit organization that sanctions Volkssport events in the U.S. The America's Walking Club offers outdoor organized activities (walk, bike, swim) for everyone, regardless of age or physical condition. Seniors and minors (even in strollers), singles, couples, and families are all welcome. Leashed pets are acceptable. You don’t have to be an athlete to be a Volkssporter!
• Start: 205 Cedar Falls Park Rd. at or near the Pavilion. Restrooms are available.
• Registration: Register between 9:30 and 10:00. Walk with a group. The Group walk start shortly after 10:00. The walk is free for participants and donations are appreciated to offset insurance costs and Meetup Fees. Minors are free. Cost is $4 for participants who record walk events.
• Route: The walk circles the park and one circuit is 5k. 10k is made by reversing the route. The walk is sanctioned by America's Walking Club and eligible for AVA/IVV credit.
• Lunch: We suggest bringing a lunch and a chair to eat after the walk.
• Driving Directions are provided for convenience from N/S I-385:
• From Greenville travel South toward Laurens on I-385
• Use Exit 24, Fairview Street/Fountain Inn.
• Right on SC 418 for 7.5 miles. Pass Dollar General.
• Sharp left on Berry Rd. for 1.8 miles
• Left on McKelvey Rd. then IMMEDIATE right on Cedar Falls Park Rd for0.6 miles.
• Left into park.
