Pirates Cove Hike

Details

In the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, the Marin Headlands, a wonderful looping hikes with lagoons, beaches, and views of the city, a rocky cove and the pacific coast. Love the feeling of Tennessee Valley, a relaxing walk along the Lagoon out to the beach. The hike really begins after you go up a steep climb, approx. 600 feet, on the north side of the Valley to the Coastal Fire Road, and then go on to a plateau at the Coastal Trail, with views over the valley and the Pacific Ocean. After moving along the Coastal Trial, you have a small out and back down a rocky climb to Pirates Cove, a cool small inlet beach with large rock outcrops, well worth the effort. You then go along the Coastal trail enjoying views of the Pacific Ocean on your left and reach a plateau overlooking the coast and Muir Beach.
