San Fransisco First Thursday, on November 7th, is a giant street party taking over multiple blocks along the Street. There's going to be outdoor beer gardens managed, several stages for bands and DJs. Party on the dance floor! Special guests like Noodles and Andre Power will be lighting up that stages so it's bound to be a good time. The city is expecting up to 10,000 people! You won't want to miss the event that everyone will be talking about!

What to Expect:
We'll meetup a local restaurant for some food and drinks to start the night right. We'll get to know each other a little bit before walking down to the party.

You, your Urban Diversion friends, and your awesome host will hop along the street and enjoy the great entertainment. We'll explore the cool ally's that are hiding some hidden gems.
There's going to be live music, DJs, and beer gardens. Come on out with your dancing shoes and let's cut some rug (old slang for let's boogie).

Attire: It's a funky-fun street fair, so express yourself! If you feel like it, get your flashy crazy outfit on. Come on down after work and we'll let loose!

About the Geminids Meteor Shower:
The Geminids Meteor Shower is known for putting on one of the brightest and most reliable meteor shows of the year, lighting up the night sky every December. Unlike most meteor showers, which originate from comets, the Geminids are the result of debris from the asteroid 3200 Phaethon. This creates slower-moving, vivid meteors that often streak across the sky in vibrant colors, making them a favorite for stargazers.
At its peak, the Geminids can produce up to 120-150 meteors per hour! We’ve chosen to host our meteor shower camping trip the weekend before to the actual peak because while the meteors will still be plentiful, the crescent moon phase offers darker skies, perfect for stargazing without the interference of a bright moon. It’s the ideal balance for catching a high number of meteors while enjoying the best possible conditions for visibility.

Hiking Twin Peaks After Dark

Join us for gorgeous and easy hike with mesmerizing views of the entire city. This hill is in the middle of the city and makes for the perfect night hike. The trail contains stairs so it'll make sure to get your leg workout for the day! We'll experience amazing views of the city, the Golden Gate Bridge and of the glistening ocean beyond.Come along for a special hike and meet some awesome, like-minded individuals who love getting outdoors in our beautiful Bay Area surroundings just like you!

This is an easy hike, around 4 miles from Glen Canyon Park to Twin Peaks. There are some stairs that are sure to tire you out, but there is more mellow flat paths than anything. We can take our sweet time, stop as much as we want, and make sure it's a fantastic afternoon for everyone!

What to Expect:
We'll meet at a delicious Mexican restaurant at the time specified. We can grab food to go and indulge as we reach Twin Peaks. When everyone has arrived, we will start hiking up Glen Canyon, a wild refuge among a bustling city, and a great spot for an urban hike! SF Park & Rec says, "The canyon itself, one of the City's Significant Natural Resource Areas, with naturally forested slopes, native chert outcroppings, and wild flower growths including important native San Francisco species." We will then hike up into the beautiful open space of Twin Peaks where you'll witness expansive views of our city from San Francisco's 2nd highest point at 922 feet above sea level! With a little luck, we might get a crystal clear night and have views for days and picture perfect memories!

Attire:
Wear comfortable hiking shoes and dress in layers so we're prepared for whatever the weather will throw at us! The trail is more so exposed than it is covered (so prepare for both!) And it'll definitely be windy so LAYERS!

Your Urban Diversion host will be dressed up from head to toe! Find those mythical costumes, paint on your colorful makeup, and use a whole bottle of hairspray! Members are often more than happy to lend out extras or pick up pieces for you during their own shopping trips!

# Monthly Poker Night

What to Expect:
Looking for a chance to show off your Poker skills? Or wanting to learn more about how to play poker? We'll have a beginners table and advanced/intermediate tables with different buy-in amounts, so don't worry if you're new to the game!
We'll have professional poker tables for you to play with and a quick lesson will be available for those of you who are not so experienced in these games. For those not into gambling, you can still join and be the unofficial cheerleader for your friends! Cheer them on and watch them win (or lose ;)

TEXAS HOLD'EM POKER:
You've seen the celebrities compete in the poker tournaments on TV and now it's your chance! The game will be Texas Hold-Em. Everyone will get the same amount of chips in the beginning. If you run out of chips, you're out of the game! So, if you're going ALL IN, make sure you have that winning hand!

Are you a beginner? No problem, we will have a few tables, one for beginners and one for advanced. A quick lesson will be given to beginners before starting the tournament. And if you've got a bad poker face don't worry - just join the beginner's table for a bit of fun! Add yourself to the watch list and check the basic rules and hand rankings!

Important note about Urban Diversion Poker Night:
All skill levels welcome! This is not a serious game of Poker - We usually have two/three tables going, and always at least one is a beginners' table. UD Poker Night is not like Vegas**, it's like playing at home with friends! We will go over how to play, we encourage beginners to join.**

Geminid Meteor Shower Night Hike

Join UD for a night hike and a chance to see the biggest meteor shower of the year, predicted 120 meteors per hour!
Hiking under the Crescent Moon, with awesome friends and yummy snacks, and the best views of San Francisco from above!

What to Expect:
Join us on an exciting night hike & meteor shower adventure, as we hike up to one of our favorite hidden gems of San Francisco - Bernal Heights!
We will first meet up at a local bar, gather the group and start the night with with a refreshing drink. Then, get ready for the main event - a walk up to the top of Bernal Heights, where breathtaking 360° views await us. This is a 1 mile urban hike, with a big pay off. When we reach the summit, we will create a cozy setup with blankets and chairs, making the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the incredible view.
This year, the Germinid Meteor Shower is expected to peak the night of our hike. Together, we'll mingle, share stories, and soak in the peaceful ambiance while nature works its magic. Lace up your sneakers, and join us for an adventure to remember.
What is the Germinid Meteor Shower?
Astronomer Guy Ottewell said: "The Geminids, deriving from an asteroid rather than a comet, must include rock-sized pieces, which as they burn up in the atmosphere are often bright and do not leave trails."

Naughty or Nice? Who are we kidding—we know exactly what you've been up to, and today’s your chance to be even naughtier!
This will fill up fast, so don’t miss out!
Christmas is just around the corner, and Santa's making his list... but tonight, we’ll find out who’s really been naughty or nice!
Join us for a 4-hour adventure around the city on a private party bus, exclusively for our Urban Diversion crew!

What to Expect:
PREGAME: 12:00: Meet at Union Square with 3,000 other Santas yelling "Ho ho ho... get off me, you ho!" and playfully shouting at elves (but seriously, be nice to the elves). No presents for the kids this time!
MORE PREGAME: 1:00pm we head over to a bar with 1000 other Santas for a well deserved drink.

BUS PARTY TIME!!! 2:00pm - 6:00pm - Only 30 cool Santas leave the bar on our private bus - the other lame Santas break up in to mobs and walk/stumble to North Beach, Polk street, Mission and the Marina where we will be waiting for them. We will drive past them and sing bad Christmas carols!

# Seashore Tide Pools and Marine Treasure Hike!

Make sure you register early - this event will fill up fast!

Have you ever gone on a hike or walk on the beach and wondered what the different plants and animals were? Or maybe you wonder about the history of the land you're on? We will be at one of the best tide pools in Northern California at low tide! Your knowledgeable UD Host will take us out treasure hunting, so you'll you never have to wonder what you're looking at! We'll learn as we hike over, around, and inside the pools while trying to spot sea stars and sea urchins, scoping out the coral and crabs, and maybe even catching a glimpse of the seals that nest down the beach!

Parking is extremely limited - Post in the message wall if you're looking for a ride or willing to drive!

What to Expect:
When you first arrive, find your host waiting for you at the picnic tables. Enjoy the beautiful coastal surroundings as you meet your fellow UD members. Once everyone arrives, your host will guide you through these beautiful and famous seashore tide pools. After the beach tour, we will head to our early dinner reservation as we watch the sun set behind the ocean and eat some delicious fresh seafood.

The holiday season is finally here, so let's get it started with a magical experience!
UD is heading to the Holiday Ice Rink at Union Square to skate and glide under the city lights. After our moonlit skate, we're going to stroll over to the ultimate Christmas bar, Miracle @ PCH. They go all out and deck the halls galore and their cocktails are delicious! Join us and create festive, unforgettable memories to last a lifetime.

If you're an amateur skater, or an ice skating enthusiast, this event is perfect for all skill levels! Gather & rejoice on the ice with your new and old UD friends! Our 60 minute session is limited to how many people can be on the ice, so please don't be late!

What to Expect:
We will experience this magical winter wonderland on ice! Whether you're learning to skate or helping others, you will have a fantastic time with your UD friends! It's your chance to build some great memories with great people. After our session, we'll head over to the bar across the street for some drinks, food, and games!! Your host will get a group appetizer to share!
