Join us on this **fast paced** evening hike at one of the best hiking open spaces in the Mount Diablo's foothills. We will get a good workout as we will only take a few short breaks throughout the hike.
This is an evening hike. Please bring a flashlight, headlamp, etc. as we may finish the hike after sunset.

**Details:**

Hike Difficulty: Level 3/10 (Beginner Hike) We will move at a fast, 3 mph pace. Note the elevation gain, please.

A beginner hike: Yes. However, it will be fast paced!

Distance: Approx. 5-6 miles
Elevation Gain: Approx. 600- 1000 ft

Duration: 2 Hrs.

Trail condition: Fire roads and single file trails

Water: 1L (No refill available)

Dog: Yes, on leash, or off-leash under voice command.

Toilette: None :(

Toilette: None

Parking: Paved street.

Fee: Free

Directions: Follow the GPS location in the meetup to the Indian Valley Elementary School; park on the street at the end of Marshall Dr. Do NOT park in the school's parking. There should be ample parking on the street.

**Our Policy:**
We are volunteers: Our organizer, co-organizer, assistant organizers and event organizers receive no monetary nor in-kind compensation for organizing events.

Waiting list priority: People who hike with US Hiking regularly will be given priority when they are on the waiting list.

Early departure: If a hiker needs to leave the group for any reason before the end of the event, he/she must inform the event host. Not knowing a hiker's whereabouts may prompt the event host to report a hiker as missing to proper authority for further action.

No drugs: Zero tolerance for any illegal drug use.

Warning:
If you have prior medical condition or a family history of illnesses pertaining to heart, lungs, brain, etc. that can be aggravated by heat and physical exertion, this is not the hike for you. See the Covid adapted rules we have posted in the meetup description.

The organizer (me) of this trip is a volunteer and not a professional guide. The function of the organizer is only to organize this trip. Each person who signs up for a trip/hike/or outing is responsible for his or her own safety and the safety.

By signing up for this trip, or any other event organized by me, you are acknowledging that you are aware of the risks, dangers and hazards associated with any outdoor activity, freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers and hazards, and further agree to release and discharge the organizer (me) of this hike from all liability arising from your participation in the group activities.
