What we’re about
Valhalla Club – a community of fun, capable, and resilient deep thinkers you can rely on to hold a perimeter, the kind of people you'd choose to face the end of times with, should it ever come. We believe it is essential for every individual to be part of a close community like ours. We see our club as a somewhat formalized close friendship within a group of like-minded people.
We specialize in organizing regular events, including intellectual discussions as well as events for fun (hangouts or Avalon games). We aim to gather the same people repeatedly, thus optimizing for closer relationship development rather than merely meeting new people all the time. (We do need new people and are happy to expand, but the focus is on regulars.)
Why do we have Valhalla in our name? It’s a fitting metaphor for what close friends should strive for. In Valhalla, Vikings feast and drink together—just as friends should hang out and enjoy life. Vikings train and fight, while friends exercise together or engage in intellectual discussions to sharpen their minds. Vikings prepare for Ragnarök; friends should be mentally prepared for modern “Ragnarök” scenarios like extreme climate change, World War III, or total AI automation. At the core of both is camaraderie and readiness.
Don’t take the Valhalla theme too seriously, but it’s not just a lighthearted joke either.
