What we’re about
Attitude, balance, and community are what this group is all about. Being intentional about improving these three things can change your life.
Do any of these situations sound familiar?
You were once passionate about your career, but as the years go on, you are on auto-pilot until retirement. (ATTITUDE)
You’re sitting in a required (staff, PLC, IEP) meeting and it feels like a complete waste of your time. (ATTITUDE)
During your lunch break you and a co-worker take turns venting about something a (parent, student, admin) did. (ATTITIUDE and COMMUNITY)
Perhaps you don’t eat lunch and work through it instead. (BALANCE)
You come in early, stay late, and take work home. (BALANCE)
Upon arriving home, you spend the first half hour venting to your partner about work. (ATTITUDE and BALANCE)
Most of your friends are teachers, and when you get together, you talk about work. (ATTITUDE, BALANCE, and COMMUNITY)
You belong to a fractured team that doesn’t work well together, or like in my case, you work at a school that is so small you don’t have a grade-level team. (COMMUNITY)
If any of these situations sound familiar, you’re in the right place. If you are looking for a group where you can get together with other teachers and vent about (students, parents, admin, wages, standards, politics, etc), you’re in the WRONG place. As you can tell from the scenarios above, we already have places for that. Attitudes are infectious and my goal is to cultivate a group that focuses on the positive.
